Reopening Info

We are thrilled to announce that the River Bourne Club and our phone lines will be reopening on Monday, 27th July 2020. We are so grateful for your support during the last 4 months of closure and we hope that you can continue to support us as we navigate the safe reopening of our club over the next few weeks. 

The safety of our staff and members has always been and remains our top priority. Following government guidelines, we will be reopening the club on Monday, 27th July 2020 with the following adjustments:
 
NEW Milon Q Circuit
During lockdown we have installed our brand new Milon Q Circuit which we are so excited for our members to try. Please email milon@rbhealthclub.co.uk to be re-inducted on our new circuit.

Milon is possibly the most coronavirus safe form of exercise that you can participate in within a gym environment. We have adjusted the numbers on our bookable sessions to  ensure that you exercise safely with ample room between you and other users. The times between changing pieces of equipment has also been extended to allow for cleaning of the equipment. Between each booked session the equipment will be sanitised.
 
NEW Reception Turnstiles
We have also installed brand new turnstiles at reception. Members will now use their membership cards at the turnstiles to gain access into the club.
 
NEW Temporary Opening Hours:

Monday to Thursday:  06.30 to 20.00
Friday:  06.30 to 18.00
 Weekends: 08.00 to 14.00

*Junior gym/swim sessions are currently unavailable. We hope to reintroduce junior activities as soon as possible.

Milon will not be available on 8th & 9th August 

These are difficult times we are navigating in and therefore we have had to create temporary opening hours for the next few weeks that will allow us to manage both the safety and demand of our members. We plan to have a further update to our opening hours before the 10th August 2020.

Booking Sessions:
Until further notice all gym/swim sessions and classes must be pre-booked before entering the Club. This must be done by both Full and Pay As Go members. Pay As You Go members must now pay online before arrival. You can do so by logging into or creating an account on our website. These time slots can be easily booked via our website and/or app using your membership login details. All sessions will have a 15/20 minute staggered arrival time to help us minimise traffic and queueing within the club.

The session times available are:
Gym Sessions: 60 minutes maximum per day
Milon Sessions: 35 minutes maximum per day (please contact milon@rbhealthclub.co.uk to book)
Swim Sessions: 45 minutes maximum per day
Classes: 30-45 minutes (please see website for updated timetable)
 
As with our opening hours, these are temporary arrangements that we hope to increase as soon as it is possible to do so. We ask all of our members to please be respectful when booking so that we can meet the demand of all members.
 
Swimming/Changing Rooms:
We ask all members to please arrive to their booked sessions ‘gym or beach’ ready and with as limited belongings as possible. This is to help us reduce changing room traffic with a current limited capacity of 8 people per changing room at one time. Swimming sessions as mentioned above will be available as bookable lane swimming. We ask all members to abide to the usual swimming guidelines and swim in a lane that is suited to their current speed ability.

Swimming Lessons

These have resumed. To book your child in please email swimming@rbhealthclub.co.uk. There are special measures in place to ensure that you, your children and our teams can use the pool confidently and safely. To understand how this will work we have created a short video for you. Membership Freeze Requests:
We have taken every measure to ensure that our club is safe to open and cannot wait to welcome back both our staff and members. However, we do understand that a return may not yet be possible for members who are shielding. Therefore members who need to do so may freeze their memberships up until the end of 31st January 2021.


What are we doing to keep you safe?

Keeping you safe and healthy is our number one priority. That's why we've introduced new cleaning procedures and social distancing measures, which have been guided by the experts at UK Active, Swim England, the UK government and Public Health England.

Members will be encouraged to sanitise their hands at reception and additional hand sanitiser units have been positioned at key areas across the Club. 

Cleaning and disinfecting
We'll be sanitising gym equipment throughout the day and cleaning the entire club every night. All staff have had cleaning training and they'll be using a two-stage cleaning process including a detergent, followed by a disinfectant. We have also purchased eco-friendly sanitising fogging machines which will pass through the gym throughout the day.

Social distancing
You'll see new social distancing signs around the gym, including one-way systems where possible. We're also limiting the number of members in each area, such as the gym floor, studios, swimming pool and changing rooms. And we've reduced the amount of equipment and lockers available. Numbers in the Club will be limited and all activities, including gym and swimming sessions will be by prior booking only.

Changes to classes
We're running smaller classes to keep everyone safe and the classes will be shorter than usual (30 to 45 minutes) to make sure we have enough time to clean the studios. We're only running certain classes to ensure social distancing. 

All Club visits will be bookable
This will mean that not just classes, but for the time being; gym visits, Milon sessions and swimming will all be bookable. This can be done online or via our app. 

Protecting you and our teams
We've installed plastic shields at our reception desks and we'll be providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our staff if necessary.

What can you do to keep yourself and others Safe? 

To keep the Club as safe and clean as possible, we need your help too. We ask that you follow a few simple rules when you visit the Club.

Before coming to the gym

Stay home if you're unwell
Please don't come to the gym if you feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms.

Bring your own
Bring a full water bottle as the water fountains aren't in use. If you're doing yoga or Pilates, bring your own mat if you have one. Only bring a towel if you're showering and don't bring a sweat towel.

Arrive ready to work out
Please come in your workout gear to avoid using the changing rooms. We advise against wearing face masks as these can hinder your breathing while exercising, and gloves aren't recommended as they can't easily be cleaned – please use the hand sanitiser provided instead.

Travel light
We won't have as many lockers available as usual, so please think about how much you're bringing with you.

Pre-book your gym session, Milon slot or swim
In addition to booking exercise classes, you'll also need to book your gym, Milon or swimming session in advance. You can do this using the River Bourne Club app or our online booking portal.

Bring your bank card
As we can't accept cash if you want to buy anything.

While you're at the gym

Use hand sanitising stations
You'll find these before you reach reception and throughout the gym. Make sure you follow proper handwashing if you use the changing rooms.

Do not arrive too early or too late
Try to arrive no more than 5 minutes early from your booked slot and follow the social distancing rules whilst you are in the Club. When your workout over, please leave the Club as quickly as possible. Members must only do a maximum of one exercise session per day and must not move between areas e.g. if you book a swim you will not be able to do a class or go to the gym.

Follow the social distancing signs
Keep to the one-way system and try to stay at least 2 metres from others as much as possible.

Clean your equipment and mats
You can do this before and after use with the wipe pods around the gym. 

Keep to a one-hour workout maximum
This is so that other members can use the Club. Workouts can be booked online or via our app. If you have not previously registered for online bookings you can do so by clicking the "My Account" button at the top of this page (you cannot register on the app).

Only shower if you're swimming
We're limiting showers and changing rooms to our pool users, so please shower at home otherwise.
